I definitely was. And I think it’s not surprising that most people would be skeptical at first. It’s a very strange concept – completely different from everything we have been taught to believe. It seemed ridiculous to me that tapping on your body could create psychological change. I was suspicious of this supposed “energy” stuff that I had never heard about before. I thought EFT was way out in "woo-woo" land and I dismissed it the first few times I heard of it. But after several credible people recommended EFT, and because I was frustrated with the often slow process of traditional talk therapy, I gave it a try.
Now I have seen it work in myself, my friends and my clients. All I ask is that you give it a try too. One of the great things about EFT is that you don’t have to believe in it for it to work. (That’s how we know it’s not a placebo – you have to believe for a placebo to work.) If it doesn’t work for you, then you can forget about it. But if it helps you, you will have discovered an incredibly powerful tool for dealing with distressing emotions and events. On a more advanced level, EFT can also be used to eliminate negative or blocking beliefs about yourself or the world. (See The Scientific Evidence Behind EFT too.)
